She said the center is expected to open this coming fall.
TOWN OF CONKLIN (WBNG) -- Town of Conklin Supervisor Bill Dumian shared more details about the new Amazon distribution center coming to Broome County.
Dumian's office shared the map below with 12 News, which breaks down the Amazon center's delivery area based on zip codes.
According to this map, the center will serve some people residing in Broome, Tioga, Cortland, Otsego, Delaware, and Susquehanna, Pa. counties.
Dumian said the facility will be a "last mile" center, which according to Amazon's website, speeds up customer delivery times and allows for innovation.
Dumian explained the center will primarily focus on delivering smaller packages and will utilize what he called "sprinter vans" rather than large trucks. He also said he expects the facility to create between 60 and 70 jobs.
12 News reached out to Amazon's corporate office and PR team for more details on the center's operations. We are waiting to hear back.
