BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced updated COVID-19 protocols on Thursday.
Rumble Ponies officials said it will eliminate testing and vaccination requirements in certain sections of the stadium. Also, fully vaccinated people will not need to wear masks.
These new protocols will begin on May 25 when the Rumble Ponies play a 6-game homestand against the Akron RubberDucks.
The Rumble Ponies say there will be vaccinated sections where social distancing and masks are not required. Fans in the vaccinated sections will need to show proof of full vaccination, which can be a physical vaccination card or an electronic confirmation such as the Excelsior Pass. The vaccinated section will be sold at full capacity.
Fans who are sitting in non-vaccinated sections will not need to show proof of vaccination or have a negative COVID-19 test. They will, however, be required to wear a mask inside the stadium.
Team officials said fans under the age of 16 can accompany a vaccinated adult in a vaccinated section without showing proof of vaccination.
The Rumble Ponies said the updated guidance was made in accordance with New York State guidelines.
