Pennsylvania addresses importance of mental health during pandemic

CORONA MENTAL HEALTH

HARRISBURG (WBNG) -- Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services addressed the fallout from the pandemic's isolation, with much of the focus being placed on mental health.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro said the pandemic has created opportunities for people to abuse substances.

"While we're all starting to begin to come back together, those feelings may not go away overnight. It's okay to feel those emotions and we're here collectively to tell you that it is okay to ask for help," he said.

The state encourages anyone struggling with mental health or home life to call 1-844-723-2729 or at www.safe2saypa.org.
