(WBNG) -- Helping Celebrate Abilities (HCA), is this week's winner of a two-thousand dollar grant from Upstate Shredding through Southern Tier Tuesdays.
The non-profit has been providing programs and services to the developmentally disabled community since 1947.
HCA serves all ages and has integrated programs such as pre-school services and group homes.
Representatives from HCA say their mission is provide support and services to people with disabilites to help them achieve their dreams and goals, adding that they'll use the grant for some of their programs as well as therapeutic needs.
"Some of the funding used will be for our residential services program. They've been anxious to get out now that everything's opening up and are trying to plan a trip," said Mary Claire Truman, HCA's Marketing and Development Coordinator, adding, "The group homes majority of our individuals are immunized as well as our staff."
Truman adds that the rest of the funding will go to their pre-school therpay program which includes potenitally purchasing trapeze swings for sensory integration for the children.
HCA also has one of their major fundraisers coming up later this summer. Their 19th Annual Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, August 19th at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, NY.
