(WBNG) -- New York State Police announced charges against a suspect connected to the shooting of a State Trooper Friday.
State Police said Jason D. Johnson was arraigned Friday morning on two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, a class A-1 felony, at Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
The shooting occurred in the Town of Colesville near West Windsor Road on Wednesday.
A second trooper sustained a shrapnel injury during an exchange of gunfire with Johnson, State Police said.
The manhunt for Johnson lasted nearly 20 hours. He was taken into custody near a riverbank off State Route 79 in Colesville without incident.
