CDC: 70% of New York adults received 1 dose of vaccine

Vaccine in hand

(WBNG) -- The Centers for Disease Control is reporting that 70% of New Yorkers aged 18 or older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The information is according to an interactive map on the CDC website.

You can find this statistic by selecting "people" under the "view" column, "at least one dose" under the "show" column, "% of population" under the "Metric" column, and "population > 18 years of age" under the "population" column. You'll then need to move your mouse cursor over New York.

On June 7, Governor Andrew Cuomo said the state would remove most of its virus restrictions if 70% of New York adults received at least one dose of the vaccination.

As of 6:45 p.m., Governor Cuomo has not made an announcement on the CDC's report.
