(WBNG) -- Binghamton University distance runner Emily Mackay finished an impressive 2021 season by becoming a two-time All-American.
Mackay placed seventh overall in the women's 5,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She finished with a time of 15:42.38.
Mackay said she's very excited about the honor and her time at the championships was an amazing experience.
"My goal was at least second team All-American which is top 16," said Mackay. "Then top 8 first team All-American. That was my stretch goal. I'm just very excited that I was able to accomplish that."
Mackay earned All-American honors at the NCAA Cross Country Championships back in March with a 14th place finish.
