New York State Trooper shot in Deposit, suspect is in custody

UPDATE 11:45 p.m. (WBNG) -- New York State Police has confirmed a trooper was shot June 23 just after 9 p.m. in the Village of Deposit.

The trooper has since been brought to Wilson Memorial Hospital after responding to a domestic dispute on Sunrise Terrace.

Since 9 p.m., the suspect is in police custody and there's said to be no threat to the local community.

(WBNG) -- According to State Police, there is currently a heavy police presence in the Village of Deposit.

State Police and other agencies are on the scene.
