Report: Former Rep. Brindisi to run for New York Supreme Court Justice

(WBNG/WTVH) -- Former Congressman Anthony Brindisi is planning to run for Supreme Court Justice in New York's 5th Judicial District.

On Monday, Brindisi told his plans in an interview with CNYCentral in Syracuse, N.Y.

Brindisi's announcement fellows a previous statement on Twitter where he announced he would not be running for the NY-22 Congressional District seat.

He lost his bid for reelection to Republican Claudia Tenney after a months-long battle in court over affidavit ballots stemming from Oneida County.

Brindisi defeated then-incumbent Tenney for the NY-22 House seat in the 2018 election.

An official announcement from Brindisi is expected later Monday.

Also on Monday, Danielle Fogel announced she is running for the seat as a republican.
