Rumble Ponies end two-game skid with 4-3 win over Altoona

ALTOONA (WBNG) -- The Binghamton Rumble Ponies earned their 23rd win of the season Thursday night with a comeback win over the Altoona Curve.

The Curve struck first in the bottom half of the first inning, taking the lead early. The Rumble Ponies responded in the top of the third as Manny Rodriguez tied it up with an RBI double. But then in the bottom half of the third inning, Canaan Smith-Njigba homered for the Curve, driving in two runs to put Altoona back in front.

Finally, in the eighth inning, the Ponies broke through. Wagner LaGrange started the scoring with an RBI single. He was followed up by Nick Conti who hit his first double of the season, driving in two runs to give Binghamton the lead after eight innings.

Allan Winans earned his second save of the season to close out the game and give Binghamton their first win of the six-game series. The Rumble Ponies and Curve will square off again Friday night. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
