(WBNG) -- The American Lung Association began a Vape-free schools initiative on Thursday aimed at educating the youth about vaping in New York.
The Vape-free scholarship fund will create a way for kids in school to access ways to bring it to an end, get support, and education.
The initiative provides school administrators and educators with training to offer alternative-to-suspension programs and a Vaping Education and Tobacco Cessation Program.
"By offering these scholarships, schools that might not have access to either one of these programs can work with the American Lung Association and they can submit their school for a scholarship consideration," said Chief Mission Officer Deb Brown.
