VESTAL (WBNG) -- The Town of Vestal and the Broome County Health Department has issued a boil water advisory for several streets Monday.

The advisory was put into place due to distribution pipes and mains losing pressure. Officials said this increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes could enter the system.

If you live on one of the following streets, you are asked to boil your water before drinking it or using it for cooking:

  • Wildwood Lane
  • Madison Drive
  • West Marshall Drive
  • East Marshall Drive
  • Salem Drive
  • Amherst Avenue
  • Radcliffe Boulevard
  • Baylor Drive
  • Taylor Drive
  • Case Drive
  • Pratt Drive
  • Dickinson Drive
  • 800 to 1221 Murray Hill Rd.
  • 4409 to 4295 Fuller Hollow Rd.
  • 1301 to 1329 Campus Dr.
  • Hartwick Lane
  • 4700 to 4732 Deerfield Pl.
  • Bay Street
  • Elsmere Place
  • Marguerite Court
  • 23 to 28 Dellwood Rd.
  • 801 to 4860 County Club

According to Vestal officials, water pressure has been restored to the area. They said residents will be informed when tests reveal that there are no harmful bacteria in the water and they no longer have to boil their water.
