JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- The Ladies of Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) will sponsor the 17th Annual Halfway to St. Patrick's Hooley Friday.
The Hooley is a lively party with dance and music and Hooley Committee Co-chair Maureen Kadlecik said it's a great opportunity to enjoy Irish Culture.
"This year we are having the Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band and the Carle School of Irish Dance," Kadlecik said. "It will be a fun time to enjoy, have some Irish food do some dancing and meet with friends."
The Hooley will be held Sept. 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1645 in Binghamton. There will be entertainment from Pat Kane & West o'Clare Band, Irish dance, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, and food for sale.
LAOH Publicity Susan Connors said this years 50/50 raffle proceeds will benefit Gigi's Playhouse Southern Tier.
"Each year the Hooley committee chooses a local charity and this year we chose Gigi's Playhouse Southern Tier," Connors said. "They deal with Down Syndrome and it's open to pre-natal to adults and they have programs and it's a wonderful place to check out."
Advanced admission is $15 for adults (18 & over), $5 for children ages 6 to 17 and free for children 5 & under, up until Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. Tickets at the door will be $18.
"You can get them at the AOH Hall, The Beef Restaurant, Irish Kevins Pub and Post 1645 the American Legion where the event is being held," Connors said.
