JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- Faith in Action Volunteers is set to host the 15th Annual Dining For Dollars Fundraiser in October.

Faith in Action Volunteers, is a program of the Broome County Council of Churches that offers services to senior citizens to help them remain independent and healthy. Director of Faith in Action Sue Spencer said Dining For Dollars is one of two yearly fundraisers.

"What we're hoping to achieve is to get funds to help our program which helps seniors in our community and dining for dollars is just a fun time and it's a nice dinner at the Riverdale Banquet Hall and we have raffles and music," Spencer said. "What makes us unique is we have singing clergy and guest servers who will serve you for tips!"

Director of CHOW and Dining for Dollars Clergy Les Aylesworth said Faith of Action and CHOW are both a part of the Broome County Council of Churches and focus on similar community service programs.

"I was delighted that Sue invited me to become a guest server this year and so I'm going to get my 'mi, mi, mi's' out there and be ready to help them raise money," Aylesworth said.

Dining For Dollars will be held Oct. 7 at The Riverdale Banquet Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for social hour and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Plated dinner includes salad, pasta, chicken entree, vegetables, potato, and dessert.

The cost is $35 per person. Send in your reservation and payment by Sept. 24 to Broome County Council of Churches/Faith in Action, 3 Otseningo St., Binghamton, NY 13903. To pay by credit card you can call 607-724-9130 x318.
