ALBANY, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Governor Kathy Hochul announced a new tool involving the New York State Excelsior Pass.
It's a scanner app for business that has been updated to enable the validation of vaccine passports from other states. Its goal is to help New York businesses safety reopen to residents from other states.
According to Governor Hochul, more than 5.6 million excelsior passes, including 800,000 excelsior passes plus, have been issued since the state launched the platform.
Since Oct. 6, the app can validate passes from states that issue SMART Health Cards, including California, Hawaii, Louisiana and Virginia. Washington State will be added later.
