Calvary’s Love Church is hosting a local and global human trafficking awareness event. It’s also expanding it’s programs that it offers to the community.
The awareness event will feature the movie SOLD. SOLD is about a 12-year-old girl who risks everything for freedom after being trafficked from her mountain village in Nepal to a brothel in India.
After the movie there will be a Q&A panel discussion with local, state and government officials that will be speaking about trafficking that happens locally. Then keynote speaker, Diana Adour from Head First Development (Global Project) will be there to talk about human trafficking globally.
Vendors will also be there and will include food (American & Indian), snacks (popcorn, candy, drinks) and merchandise and products made by survivors of Human Trafficking around the world.
Proceeds from this event will fund survivor education.
The Local and Global Human Trafficking Awareness Event will be on January 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Calvary’s Love Church on 1315 Reynolds Road in Johnson City. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or stop by the office or call (607) 797-3757.
