Have you ever wondered how a red panda chooses its mate or how a penguin shows love to its other half? You can learn all of that and more at Courtship Tails happening at the Binghamton Zoo.

Courtship Tails is a humorous adults-only Valentine’s Day event that highlights animal facts and rituals that relate to courtship and mating. Couples will be escorted by a tour guide throughout the zoo in a heated van, all while talking about courtship displays and amusing animal mating facts. Stops at Wolf Woods and African Waters will allow guests to enjoy coffee, desserts, and a wine tasting. Each tour group will go on a special behind the scenes stop inside the snow leopard holding area.

Tours will be held on February 16 and 17, at 10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately an hour and a half and includes the guided tour, behind the scenes of snow leopard indoor holding, dessert foods, hot drinks, a photo to take home, and Valentine’s Day to remember.

Tours are limited to four couples, and reservations are required for Courtship Tails. Tickets are $115 for non-member couples and $100 for member couples. Guests must be 21 years or older. Limited walking will be required, and you should dress according to the weather.

Courtship Tails features information that ranges from warm and fuzzy to informative and risque. Please call the Binghamton Zoo at (607) 724-5461 ext. 235 or go online to reserve your spot.
