The United Way of Broome County will be celebrating “Day of Action” on June 21 by promoting summer reading. It is gathering donations of new books for children kindergarten through fifth grade from now until June 30.
Celebrating the longest day of the year, Day of Action is an invitation for people and organizations to take action and live united.
Last year, over 500 books were donated to children participating in summer programs across the county.
Book donations can be dropped off at the United Way of Broome County on 101 South Jensen Road in Vestal or at the Lee Barta Community Center on 108 Liberty Street in Binghamton.
