After a combined seven goals in the Blue Devils win over Windsor last week, both Emma and Aubrey Bough are our 12 Sports Athletes of the Week.
This spring was one to remember, not only in Section IV but throughout the Southern Tier.
After providing the sparks that led Maine-Endwell to the final four, Joe Mancini and Josh Chandler are our 12 Sports Athletes of the Week.
Maine-Endwell has scored 39 goals this season, Coleman has 25 of them in just 14 games.
“Defense, I definitely think is the best part about football,” said Susquehanna Valley senior quarterback Jarred Freije. “It lets us just be mean and nasty and violent and just go wild out there.”
Receiver, running back, cornerback, punter and returner, Maine-Endwell’s Rylie VanFleet was all over the field Saturday helping the Spartans stay undefeated.
“I have the mentality that I am going to run him over and get to the next level,” said junior running back Gio Fabi.
"I would go on record and say it was one of the greatest games ever played on that field for our Vestal team," said Vestal head coach Tony Policare III.
Enter Lucas Scott, a six-foot-three 240-pound sophomore, who has made sure the Blue Devils haven’t skipped a beat.
Chandler went 88 yards on his second carry of the season, setting the stage for a big Spartans victory against Oneonta.
His mother told 12 News on Wednesday that he finished in 5th place after running in the 100-meter relay. He then went on to set personal records by finishing 7th in the 200-meter relay and 5th in the 400-meter relay.
