Deceased man found in Johnson City woods identified

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — The Johnson City Police Department has identified the man whose remains were found last Wednesday.

Police Chief Brent Dodge said the remains were discovered in a wooded area just off Columbia Drive, near the intersection with Fairview Street, by a village worker who had been filling potholes.

One week later, Chief Dodge said the man has been identified as 42-year-old Shaun M. Cronin of Binghamton.

Dodge said the cause of death has not yet been determined, as authorities are still waiting on toxicology results.

He added that the autopsy did not reveal anything suspicious and there is no indication of foul play.
