Norwich meth, cocaine bust leads to three arrests

NORWICH, N.Y. (WBNG) — Three people face felony charges following a drug bust in Norwich.

On Tuesday, Norwich police say they, along with members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, raided a home on York Street.

That’s where they arrested 31-year-old Michael Pierce, from Smyrna. Investigators claim he possessed cocaine with the intent to sell. They also say Pierce had methamphetamine and scales designed for measuring drugs.

Pierce is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. He is also charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Two women, 53-year-old Gloria Shatto and 26-year-old Halie Graham, were both charged with first-degree criminal nuisance. Police say both lived in the York Street residence and “knowingly conducted or maintained any premises or place where people can or gathered for purposes of engaging in the unlawful sale of controlled substances.”

Both women were released on appearance tickets. Pierce was taken to the Chenango county Jail, where he is being held on $40,000 bail.
