Veterans treated to free lunch at Broome County senior centers

ENDWELL (WBNG) — Local veterans were honored Wednesday with a free lunch.

Several local senior centers held the special luncheon. Veterans say they are grateful for the appreciation and say it’s important we never forget the sacrifices that were made.

“It’s important that our veterans know that they’re important, because they’re the reason we’re here,” said Annmarie Hogancamp, post commander of VFW Post 1449. “They’re the reason we’re free to do what we choose to do. They’re the reason our country is the way it is. And without them, who knows where we would be?”

Volunteer service at the luncheon was provided by Starbucks regional managers and directors, who say they always try to serve communities they visit.
