BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Warehouse Opportunity Impact program has been given an “Innovative and Collaborative Program.”
The Continuing Education Association of New York awarded the program because of its proven success.
The program is a partnership between the Broome-Tioga Workforce, SUNY Broome and Broome-Tioga BOCES. It gives unemployed people warehousing skills and training.
Officials say despite low unemployment rates, there are currently thousands of job opening across our area.
“Unemployment is at an all-time low right now, so talent is very scarce. So we partnered with these companies to work with unemployed folks to get them the training they needed to get these jobs,” said Broome Tioga-Workforce Executive Director Sara Liu.
Coordinators say they have been tracking 21 graduates, all of whom remain employed.
