BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — People got to learn more about their credit score over a local Italian dinner on Tuesday.
The Southern Tier Young Professionals hosted the Understanding Your Credit Score presentation Tuesday night at Little Venice in downtown Binghamton.
A dinner including pizza, meatballs, and much more was served.
Amy Chervinsky of the Chemung Canal Trust Company spoke to a group of around 30 individuals.
She discussed credit scores and credit reports, where they come from, and how it affects their lives.
For the most important takeaway of the night, she had this advice.
“Always make your payments on time,” says Chervinsky. “Make sure that you make them within the 30 days so that a late payment isn’t reported to your credit bureau because that is the most derogatory item on your score and the biggest reason to pull down your score.”
Little Venice was the chosen location for this presentation to give attendees a comfortable atmosphere to share their own financial experiences and ask questions.
