Two arrested in JC burglary, police searching for another suspect

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Police officers have apprehended two people accused of breaking into an apartment, assaulting a resident, and stealing items.

The incident happened early Sunday morning at an apartment on Main Street Terrace.

Police say three people, which includes, 20-year-old Antonio Jenkins and 49-year-old Tarhesha Smith, both from Endicott, forced their way into the apartment while the tenants were home.

The group is accused of attacking one of the residents, stealing property, and breaking many items.

Jenkins and Smith were located at their apartment in Endicott by Endicott police. They were transported back to Johnson City by Johnson City police.

Jenkins and Smith are charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony.

They were arraigned at Centralized Arraignment and sent to Broome County Jail.

Johnson City police say they are still looking for the third suspect they believe broke into the apartment.
