BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Beagle-mixes Trooper and Adam were reunited again Friday for a special event at the Broome County Humane Society.

Trooper was badly injured after New York State Police said a truck driver reported the two dogs were thrown from a moving SUV last month.

On Friday, staff at the humane society said both dogs are doing well and they hope the dog can be adopted within the next few weeks.

According to the shelter, the goal is to have the same individual or family adopt both dogs.

Phil Reynolds said he took the opportunity to meet Trooper and Adam after following their journey on 12 News.

“When they came together, how they just bonded together like that the first time Adam saw Trooper, that was special,” he explained.

Reynolds said he plans on applying.

“It’s been crazy. It’s awesome to see that so many people want to help and be able to give them a good home,” Amberly Ondria of the Broome County Humane Society said.

There are many interested applicants, but the shelter says people who are interested, and can take both of the dogs, are still encouraged to apply. Click here to learn more.

If Trooper’s check-up goes well next week, employees hope to adopt the dogs out in the coming weeks.

State police told 12 News Friday that they are still searching for those responsible for the crime.
