BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The cold hitting the Southern Tier is not only impacting people, but also animals.
Some of the animals at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park love the cold, while others are not that big of a fan
Most of the animals have the option to go outdoors at their own discretion whereas others get their time outdoors monitored.
The red pandas were let out for a few hours Monday morning, but were kept indoors for most of the day.
The Zoo has thermometers in each exhibit so they can closely monitor the habitats, the lemur habitat is kept at 70-80 degrees.
Monday at the zoo the American Red Wolves, Eagles, Arctic fox, and Snow Owl were having fun in the snow.
Most of their cats like the snow leopard don’t mind the cold, but they are monitored when the temperatures drop.
