Fire destroys garage in town of Binghamton

3:40 P.M. UPDATE:

TOWN OF BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — A garage in the town of Binghamton was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon.

The garage on the property of 25 Powers Road caught fire around 3 p.m.

The structure is not attached to the home and authorities said there were no injuries. The Town of Binghamton Fire Department Chief told 12 News the fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes and fully put out by 3:30 p.m.

Authorities have not said what sparked the fire. The cause is under investigation.

Fire departments from the city of Binghamton and town of Binghamton, along with New York State Police and Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad responded to the scene.

TOWN OF BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Dark smoke is rising from a garage fire in the town of Binghamton.

A garage at 25 Powers Road caught fire around 3 p.m. on Monday, according to the Broome County 911 Dispatch Center.

Dispatchers say the garage is not attached to a home and there were no reports of anyone inside the garage.

Smoke from the fire was visible from our camera located on Ingraham Hill in the town of Binghamton.
