Water main break fixed on Binghamton University campus

UPDATE: 8:00 P.M.

VESTAL (WBNG) — Binghamton University officials say the water main break on campus Wednesday has been fixed.

They told 12 News it was fixed just before 7:30 p.m.

VESTAL (WBNG) — Some residence halls are being affected by a water main break on the campus of Binghamton University.

Campus officials say the break is between the Choconut and Glenwood residence halls in the Susquehanna Community on the west side of campus.

Water service is being impacted at the Susquehanna and Hillside communities due to the break, a campus spokesperson says.

Service is expected to return by 11 p.m. Thursday, if not sooner. Until the problem is fixed, students are being asked to refrain from using laundry facilities and to use bathrooms in other buildings. The university notes that drinking water is being provided to affected students.

The Skyward Trail on-campus between the Susquehanna and Hillside Communities is also closed while repairs are being made, according to the university.
