BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Lots of new flavors are on-deck for the new season of Binghamton baseball at NYSEG Stadium.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies home opener begins Thursday at 6:35 p.m. against the Erie SeaWolves.
Crews at NYSEG Stadium have been getting ready to rumble ahead of the game.
Not only were upgrades made to the stadium, you’ll also be able to catch new food on the menu.
“A brand new Lupo’s sausage,” said Rumble Ponies Director of Food and Beverage Bill Koehler. “It’s so spicy they call it the fire cracker. You might see it in the local stores. We’re kind of proud to have that here in the stadium.”
If that’s too hot for you to handle, you can cool off with something sweet.
“South Philly water ice coming down here,” he said. “We’re going to have tons of flavors of that to scoop out for the little kids.”
There will also be new options from the grill.
“We’re doing a brand new fried chicken and barbecue rib sandwich out of our concession stands,” said Koehler.
Crews say they’ve been hard at work to bring you the latest and greatest.
“It’s just a daily process,” said Rumble Ponies Head Chef Patrick Mckay. “Every morning we come in and we work off our prep lists and we just continue to plug away this monumental massive food that we have to get prepared for everybody.”
Each season home opener, Mckay says he goes through a good amount of food and is aiming to do the same this week.
“I’d say we usually go through a couple hundred burgers, a couple hundred orders of chicken fingers, and hopefully a lot more pulled pork and brisket this year,” said Mckay.
“Everybody is putting in a lot of effort into making this the premiere location in Binghamton to come and bring your family and have a great time,” added Koehler.
