TOWN OF UNION (WBNG) — The owners of Robinson Hill Nursery & Mulch say their most valuable piece of equipment has been destroyed in a fire Friday afternoon.

The owner’s son, Matthew Shager, says an employee was in the mulch grinder when it caught on fire. No injuries were reported, however, they are calling the machine a total loss.

“This is our horse basically for our business, it does everything, without this, we’re done,” said Shager.

He says this loss is detrimental to their business and says the timing couldn’t be worse timing since spring is their busiest season.

“This is the time we make our money because you know come the end of the summer there’s firewood which you see all over the place, that’s all we do all winter, you know there’s nothing else to do in the winter so this is it,” he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
