Annual dinner helps promote sustainability in local ingredients

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — For the 7th year VINES (Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments) held its annual Farm to Table Dinner, which featured local ingredients such as vegetables, grain and meats.

“We try to source the majority of things within about 65 miles of [Binghamton],” said VINES Executive Director, Amelia LoDolce. “A majority of the food is within Broome County, Cortland County, Tompkins County.”

The meal was prepared by the kitchen staff at Remlik’s Restaurant in Binghamton, which also hosted the event. Live music entertained the 200 guests as they at the three-course meal.

The non-profit also received help from sponsors including, Shared Roots Farm, Main Street Farms, Heller’s Farm, TC3 Farm, McRey Farm, Northland Sheep Dairy, Old Barn Market, Infiniti Greens, Engelbergt Farms, Closer to the Heart Farms, Parlor City Vegan and Ithaca Bakery.
