JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Johnson City Elementary school held its annual World of Possibilities day on Thursday.
It’s a spin off of a career day, as the school had over 40 different community volunteers who came to the school to speak about their careers.
The day shows the children how the power of education can take you anywhere in life.
12 News Meteorologist Brian Schroeder made an appearance talking to children about his path as a meteorologist.
Careers ranged from sign language to athletic coaches to puppet masters.
“Kids lose sight a little bit of what it means to develop an education and find your rhythm and find your interests. I think this is one way to help them look to the future, a lot of things are in the moment and how is it going to help later in life,” said Elementary Principal Denise Riley.
The day allowed children to expand their horizons, and taught them that it’s not about what you read in a book, but how you can apply your education to do whatever it is you want.
