BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Three people have been arrested as a result of a narcotics search warrant that was executed by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force on Monday.
The execution of the search warrant was conducted at 10 Baxter Street in the City of Binghamton and was assisted by the Metro SWAT Team.
Authorities with the Special Investigations Unit Task Force say they found about 48 grams of crack cocaine that was packaged for sale in 163 individually wrapped pieces, as well as other drug packaging materials.
Investigators estimated the street value of the cocaine to be around $6,500.
21-year-old Dwayne Benjamin of Binghamton, 39-year-old Dashawn Smith of Binghamton, and 42-year-old Rashiem Tompkins of the Bronx, NY were charged with the following:
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
- Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony
- Two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A Misdemeanor
The suspects were taken to the Binghamton Police Department to await arraignment.
