BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Two buildings in downtown Binghamton will be lit purple in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day in August.

The Security Mutual Building and DoubleTree will both shine purple to show their support in combating the opioid epidemic.

Truth Pharm also just announced the 4th annual Trail of Truth Memorial March will feature world renowned guest speakers — Kassandra Frederique, Nan Goldin, and L.A. Kauffman.

Truth Pharm says this march is sure to be a powerful and moving experience.

“It’s a really big deal for families who suffer through having a loved one addicted or the loss of a loved one just to see the communities care about them,” said Alexis Pleus, founder of Truth Pharm.

The Trail of Truth Memorial March will take place on August 24th at Peacemaker’s Stage in Binghamton and will also include a live performance art piece.
