Four months after graduating from Ithaca College, Michael joined the WBNG-12 News team as a Weeknight News Anchor/Sports Reporter.
Here, he’s been thankful to be engaged in the Southern Tier community and learn more about the people he serves. From 2017 Election Night, to April the Giraffe’s pregnancy, devastating flooding, high school sports championships, and of course Tim Tebow’s impact as a minor league baseball player, he’s been fortunate to immerse himself in stories that relate to a wide audience.
As a native of Bellmore, New York, in Long Island, he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and is an active alumnus.
In 2016, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Television/Radio and Journalism. Ithaca’s Roy H. Park School of Communications is where he began his on-air endeavors. In his third week at Ithaca he was on Ithaca College Television, and went on to hold many roles within the station. That included anchoring the main news and sports programs for multiple years. During senior year he was honored to receive a Syracuse Press Club Award for “Best Student Sports Story.”
He’s interned for ABC News, NBC during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, The View, WSYR Sports and CBS’ Entertainment Tonight/The Insider in Los Angeles where he even worked as a production assistant at the 2015 Oscars.
