Paul Mueller

Paul Mueller is an Evening News Anchor at 12 News. He joined the team in June 2019.

Paul believes everything happens for a reason and there are many reasons Paul considers himself grateful to now call the Southern Tier home.

With more than 20 years of successful broadcast experience, Paul has proven himself to be dynamic on-air personality. His extensive journalistic experience and knowledge have allowed him to move seamlessly between roles as anchor and reporter, as well as a familiar face in the communities he has served.

Paul is proficient in many aspects of social media and emerging social platforms.

More importantly, his work in community service has distinguished him as a person with whom people can easily relate and trust. Paul considers himself to be a man on a mission when it comes to saving animals, especially dogs. He considers himself an outspoken animal advocate who lends a voice to the voiceless. For Paul, saving the lives of our four-legged friends is paramount.

Paul’s professional life has been shaped by his vast network of family, friends, and colleagues.

Paul’s journey in the world of television news has taken him to cities around the country. He began as an intern at the NBC affiliate in Boston in 1992 answering calls and has worked on the assignment desk, as a producer, photojournalist, reporter and anchor.

Paul’s professional development has been most influenced by the people whose stories he’s been allowed to share with his viewers.

Although Paul’s professional development has been shaped by the stories he’s reported, several events that he’s covered have significantly influenced his growth. These include covering weather events from blizzards (Blizzard of 2015) to hurricanes (right in the eye of Irma,) the 2000 “hanging chad” election from Austin, Texas, 9/11, Republican (2012) and Democratic (2004) conventions, a deadly fire at a Rhode Island nightclub which killed 100 people (2003), and his half-hour expose on adolescent mental health issues (2006.) Paul is “always on” meaning you can find him not only on 12 News but on various social media platforms.

He says he’s excited to call the Southern Tier home and can’t wait to meet you and hear and tell your stories.
