NY state parks, historic sites hosting holiday events

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — More than 40 holiday events are being held this month at New York state parks and historic sites from Long Island to Buffalo.

The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation says 20 parks and historic sites are hosting events, including guided candlelight tours, night hikes and Christmas tree lightings.

The events include “Castle by Candlelight” at Old Fort Niagara State Historic Site overlooking Lake Ontario, the holiday light show at Jones Beach on Long Island, and the winter solstice walk at Point Au Roche State Park on Lake Champlain.

The events are being held over the next three weekends.

A complete list of events can be found on the state parks website.
