DISTURBING VIDEO: Cops: 1 dead, 2 hurt in shootings; suspect dead after chase

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a suspect in a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded is dead after leading police on a vehicle chase through a Rochester neighborhood.

Police tell local media outlets that the suspect died late Wednesday morning after a zig-zagging chase through a residential neighborhood. It wasn’t immediately known if the suspect died from police gunfire.

Video posted on the Democrat and Chronicle’s website shows at least one officer on foot shooting out the windows of a passing rental van that kept going. More than a dozen police vehicles and several officers on foot pursued the van as it turned a corner.

Officials say the chase occurred after two shootings about an hour apart Wednesday left one person dead and two wounded. Police are trying to determine if the shootings are related.
