BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — TechWorks! in Downtown Binghamton hosted its annual Thanksgiving open house on Saturday.

It featured rides in the Link Pilot Makers. The group recently restored a Link airplane trainer that was made right here in the Southern Tier. It was used to teach pilots how to work the instruments inside the airplane.

Gordon Ruston worked on the restoration and was a Link employee for 26 years and says this event is a way for people to get to know the history of their community.

“I think it’s important that people know about what goes on, or what went on in their home town. Some great companies here that have done great things,” he said.

The event also celebrated the unveiling of the Tony Sale award received from the London Computer Conservation Society for the restoration of Link Pilot Makers.
