JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Goat yoga has become a popular trend across the country in the past few years, but there may be some competition.
At the Yoga Body Shop in Johnson City Saturday afternoon, a couple dozen participants were able to get in touch with their inner zen while playing with a dozen kittens.
The cats were brought by the Broome County Humane Society. The group of felines included five-week-old kittens that the humane society rescued from a box in the woods.
Yoga studio employees said the event was a great way to have fun and help the humane society.
“We’re also donating like $800 to them so you know all these kittens can get adopted so just bringing awareness and the woman I set this up with brought adoption forms so hopefully they can all get adopted,” said Ashley Mastronardi, the manager of the studio.
All of the cats that were part of the event are or one day will be available for adoption.
