JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Staff members from Johnson City were packing up the efforts a school food drive Tuesday afternoon.
The food drive was organized by the Johnson City Middle School student government.
Each year students and staff from kindergarten to eighth grade collect non-perishable breakfast and lunch items, including cereal, canned fruit, soup and snacks throughout November and December.
The Choconut Center United Methodist Church helped contribute to the food drive with 200 bags of non-perishables.
This year the food drive will help feed approximately 45 families in our community. Support staff loaded up their personal vehicles and started to deliver the boxes to the families, each getting two boxes full of food.
