JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) — Students dressed for success at the Johnson City JCPenney’s ‘Suit Up’ event Sunday night.

The Binghamton University Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development partnered with the department store to offer students an extra 40 percent off all men’s and women’s professional clothing.

It was a deal students were happy to cash in on.

“I’m on a budget so it’s really helping me out,” said freshman Andrew Davan.

Besides saving a few bucks, the event looks to prepare them to dress the part in future professional settings.

“I think that in college there’s a lot of opportunities where you need to be looking nice so that you can have good opportunities and people see you as a clean person,” said Davan.

Nearly 350 students hit the sales at the event that ran from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Graduate student Jayne Godette adds, “The first impression is the best impression so when I want to take that first step I want my first step to be my best foot forward.”

This was the Johnson City’s JCPenney’s third ‘Suit Up’ event.
