Study reveals life-saving breast cancer treatment

(CBS) — New research released Monday shows more than half a million women’s lives have been saved thanks to mammograms and advances in treatment for breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society suggests women 40 to 44 should have a choice to start annual mammograms. women 45 to 54 should be screened every year.

It’s estimated that only about half women in the U.S. over 40 receive regular mammography screenings.
