HARPURSVILLE (WBNG) — Special luncheons like the one at the Eastern Broome Senior Center in Harpursville gave local seniors a taste of classic Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage and beer-battered fish.
They were also treated to Irish jigs by the Carle School of Irish Dance.
“It’s really nice to see everyone having a good time. We especially enjoy the mix of seniors and kids, ages 5 to 18. You know it’s just a nice inter-generational event,” said Eastern Broome Senior Center Site Supervisor Marcie Michalak.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar also stopped by the luncheon to enjoy some of the Irish fare.
