TOWN OF BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — What would you do if you found yourself in the middle of an active attack situation? The town of Binghamton neighborhood watch program answered that question Thursday night.
A presentation was held by Vestal Police Lieutenant Christoper Streno. He gave those who attended information about history of active attack events and how people usually react in those situations.
The presentation was called act, deny, and defend.
Streno shared how a certain mindset can help.
“We talk a little bit about human behavior in a crisis situation. How we react to stress and what we can tell ourselves, how we can plan ahead should we ever get in a situation like this,” said Streno.
Streno stressed the importance of locating the exits in any building you walk into just in case an emergency situation breaks out.
He says the people involved in the situation need to focus on acting upon what’s going on even before police arrive.
