ENDWELL (WBNG) — Weis Markets made a donation to the American Heart Association with the help of its customers.

A check for $12,500 was presented at the Hooper Road store on Friday.

Back in February, customers were able to round up their orders to make $1, $3, $5, and $10 donations to support the AHA.

It was a part of Weis Markets’ “Life is Why we Give” campaign, which was in conjunction with American Heart Month.

“Donations coming in especially right here in the southern tier area really helps us advance our mission, the legislation, the advocacy, the research. We have a million dollars worth of research going on at Binghamton University. Being able to fund things going on right here such as educational programs within our workforce,” said Gina Chapman the Regional Director of the American Heart Association.

Weis markets has been involved with the AHA for 10 years.

Across the six states that Weis covers, stores raised $100,000 to donate to the AHA.
