ITHACA (WENY/WBNG) — The Ithaca Farmer’s Market had it’s grand opening last week.
The farmer’s market consist of vendors that provide locally grown or made products from within or around the community. The goal of the market is to support local business and growth.
“There’s definitely a connection between the people who are shopping here and the people who are producing everything that is brought to market has been grown or produced with in 30 miles. So people can really connect with their local makers and their local growers,” says Christi Sobel, Vice President of the Ithaca Farmers Market Board.
The Ithaca Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the spring and summer months. The Sunday hours will begin in May and more satellite markets will be available as the summer progresses.
