Suspect arrested in Endwell gas station burglary

ENDWELL (WBNG) — The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made following a burglary at an Endwell business early Monday.

Deputies were searching for a man shown in surveillance pictures at Apple Food Mart on Hooper Road.

The sheriff’s office said the man had been collecting cans and bottles in the area, before breaking a window, entering the business and stealing several packs of cigarettes.

Authorities said Tuesday that a suspect has been arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary, both felonies. Officials did not released the identity of the suspect.

Deputies are searching for a suspect captured in surveillance pictures at Apple Food Mart on Hooper Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man was reportedly walking in the area collecting cans and bottles around 1 a.m. before he broke a window at the store, went inside and stole multiple packs of cigarettes.

Authorities say the man is approximately 25 to 30 years old, has brown hair, was wearing black shorts, black socks, flip-flops and a black T-Shirt with a white design on the front.
