BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The stands were packed when the first pitch was thrown at the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game against the Altoona Curve at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday.

It was Education Day at the ballpark and thousands of students from 70 schools across the region were there.

“It’s a nice day thankfully. I like watching baseball, I played for a little bit, yeah it’s good that I get to hang out with him,” Susquehanna Valley student Nathan Greiner said.

“It’s a free day out of school, we get free lunch, we get to watch the baseball game and it’s nice out,” Jdore Cruz, also from Susquehanna Valley, added.

Education Day is an annual event that gives students from all backgrounds a chance to see the Rumble Ponies play.
